Where we are.
by Megan Kemp
Do you ever play hide and seek with your kids? Mine LOVE hiding. When I come peeking around the corner they giggle in utter delight. I especially love when the little ones hide, because it's usually in plain sight. They do, however, cover their own eyes so that they can't see me coming. I also love that when they do, rarely, find an especially good hiding place that they go back to that exact same spot every. single. time.
We have been hiding here at Adventures of a Supermom. Not exactly the same type of hiding that...

No-Bake Energy Bites
by Megan Kemp
Ok y'all this is a new family favorite. I stumbled upon it on Pinterest and am so glad that I did. Healthy, protein packed little nuggets of yumminess. My man has even started keeping them up at the office for an afternoon treat. Hope you all enjoy!
No-Bake Energy Bites
1 cup oatmeal (I use steel cut)
1/2 cup peanut butter (almond butter is great too, but you'll need more to make the balls stick together because it seems to be dryer)
1/3 cup honey
1 cup coconut flakes (organic, unsweetened is my preference)
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
1/4...

The Little Things are the Big Things
by Megan Kemp
Today I'm wearing Dr. Pepper flavored LipSmackers chap stick borrowed from my 2 year old son because I could not find my usual. I'm certain it was complete with all the slobber and germs that have collected as he's eaten it rather than applied it. For lunch? Yes, I ate two heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (extra emphasis on the no crust) because my two sweeties decided they tasted "yucky" today. The two sweeties? Yes, they ate Cheetos. No fruit. No veggie. No dairy, unless, of course, you count...

Simple Truths
by Megan Kemp
I have a thing for Children's Bibles. I love how simple they are. I hope this doesn't say too much about me. They are just refreshing. Children's Bibles tend to take it right down to the basics. Sometimes I think we need that in life. I do. So, I'm sure my kids think I'm nuts sometimes as we read and as I bawl my eyes out over the story of "Jonah and the Big Fish" that we've read 1500 times before. And then I read it again to them, with a little more emotion this time, hoping against all hope that they too...

New Year, New You
by Megan Kemp
It's that time of year again. The first of the year. New. Fresh. Time for starting over. The time of year that every single treadmill at the gym is taken over by those that I affectionately refer to as "the resolutioners." Yesterday morning after finally scoring an open treadmill I ran my usual mileage at my usual pace. I was honestly a little annoyed by the invasion of "my" usually quiet place. But then I felt prompted to pray for them (it had to have been the Holy Spirit, because my flesh was grouchy). I prayed that...

Best of 2011
by Megan Kemp
SuperMommas, we have one year of blogging in the books. Thank you for reading and uniting with us on this adventure of motherhood. This year has certainly been a journey with highs and lows, twists and turns. I am so thankful that I don't have to do it alone. I am so thankful that Christ is with me (and with you) as we venture on. As this year is winding down, we thought you would all enjoy catching up on the most viewed posts of 2011...1. Too Much Energy
by Megan Kemp
Aaaaahhhhhhh! That is me screaming. My children MUST play outside. Especially my boys. Necessity. The past week or so has been rocky around here. And by rocky I mean, the children have been going CRAZY. And by that I mean, so has momma. C-R-A-Z-Y. These little bodies were not made to sit and be quiet and still all day long. It's been cold and rainy. We've been on lock down (both at school and at home). Not good. Not good at all. Not for any of us.
Today, however, it is dry. And...

Pregnant for Christmas
by Megan Kemp
"Let every heart prepare Him room, and Heaven and nature sing and Heaven and nature sing and Heavn' and Heavn' and nature sing!"
For your own well being I'm thankful that none of you are here to actually hear me belting it out right now. This week we lit our Advent candle of Preparation. Preparation is on my heart and on my mind. We put up our tree, hung the stockings with care and Nativity scenes are everywhere. Girl, we've been getting ready for Christmas 'round here. And this is all I can think to compare it to. Pregnancy....

The Elf on the Shelf
by Megan Kemp
Is everything wrong with the Elf on the Shelf?Okay. Maybe not EVERYTHING. How could everything be wrong with a darling little elf? He is cute and little and ever so cleverly and strategically placed all around a home. Kids love him. And he helps to spread Christmas cheer. I love that.
Here is my problem. He's a little tattle tell. A snitch. His whole purpose is to hang around and watch how children behave and then report back to Santa (a fictional character that brings gifts ONLY to "good" girls and...

Don't Make Me Go to Hobby Lobby
by Megan Kemp
It's that time of year again. My Starbucks cup is red and I can feel the winter chill lingering in the air. In the dark of night lights twinkle on trees and houses and my children "ooh and awe" as we circle the neighborhood streets "just one more time" before we head home to tuck in for the night. Radios are tuned to the Carol of the Bells and Spotify playlists ring with Jingle Bells and Run Run Rudolph. Wreaths are hung, trees are trimmed and Hobby Lobby is an absolutely dreadful nightmare. The mall...horrifyingly busy. Target...
