Healthy Choices
The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
Isaiah 58:11 NLT
Recently, I pulled out of the pantry a kitchen appliance I had not used for quite sometime. Instantly, my mind was flooded with memories. Several years ago, nine to be exact, I found myself depleted and very ill. Having just moved our youngest child, Sarah, to college in Virginia, I returned to an empty...

Chalkboard Paint. I love this stuff.
Hello, there! This is my first time to post so...I'm a little nervous. I am the type of person who updates my facebook status when I have a baby or my dog has died and that's about it. I am a hard-to-get-to-know fairly private person so I may write to you about how I FEEL in about five years. Well, hopefully it won't be that long.
I am sharing a little project that I worked on over the weekend and the steps involved to accomplish it. You see, I am an artist and I love to create. I was a ceramic artist in my pre-children life but have traded...

Why don't you love my cowboy?
by Sarah Clark
I made Lincoln this cowboy for Christmas. You see, I have a crush on Lincoln. He charms me. He loves cowboys, horses, hats, boots, belt buckles. He likes Toy Story, too. But mostly he likes cowboys. So I made him one. For Christmas. Blonde hair, brown eyes, buttons, belt buckle. For him. Handmade. Then we went last weekend to visit my sister. She has every toy on the planet. My kids adore her house because of its immaculate order and the unending toy possibilities...

The Little Things are the Big Things
by Megan Kemp
Today I'm wearing Dr. Pepper flavored LipSmackers chap stick borrowed from my 2 year old son because I could not find my usual. I'm certain it was complete with all the slobber and germs that have collected as he's eaten it rather than applied it. For lunch? Yes, I ate two heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (extra emphasis on the no crust) because my two sweeties decided they tasted "yucky" today. The two sweeties? Yes, they ate Cheetos. No fruit. No veggie. No dairy, unless, of course, you count...

Say Yes To Sex!
OK, ladies. Let me preface this by saying that the Lord has very recently revealed to me what I'm about to share with you (yes, He talks to me about sex). Let me also say that I am blushing just thinking about the fact that my mother-in-law will most likely read this. But I truly feel like there are many, MANY wives out there who share the outlook that I, until recently, had about sex. I think that as women, we believe at least in part, that sex is for men to enjoy, and for wives to offer to their husbands as an act of love...

Miss Moneybags
I'm the budgeting nerd in our family, but Sarah, like most stay at home moms, is far more involved in the day to day household finances. It falls to her to do the grocery and meal planning, pay bills, do the lion share of clothes shopping, and manage all the essentials. Some times have been harder than others, but stewarding money properly takes a lot of involvement no matter your income. As you moms know, if you don't tell your money what to do it won't ever do what you expect.
The simplest and most effective method we've found (and we've tried...

Some of my favorite Pioneer Woman Recipes...
Lets just start off by saying that I have a small and probably somewhat unhealthy crush on Pioneer Woman. I love reading her blog, her book was great and her recipes are by far the easiest and best to cook and to taste! I have compiled a list of some of my favorites for you to try. I have made all of these and my family loves them. My husband use to look scared when he knew I was trying out a new recipe and he still does... until I say it's Pioneer woman. Then all of his worries go away! Grilled Shrimp or Chicken with Lemon Basil PastaBBQ Chicken...

The New Year
by Kenna Sluder
I love the beginning of a new year and looking ahead to what's to come. Something we do every year instead of resolutions is to make a list of goals together. I think writing them down always helps to make us accountable and it seem more tangible. These can be anything. Do you want to try a new hobby? Get out of debt? Go on a family trip? So make 2012 THE year you do it. Don't be discouraged if you get off course, just keep making steps in that direction and you can achieve it! May your family be blessed...

Simple Truths
by Megan Kemp
I have a thing for Children's Bibles. I love how simple they are. I hope this doesn't say too much about me. They are just refreshing. Children's Bibles tend to take it right down to the basics. Sometimes I think we need that in life. I do. So, I'm sure my kids think I'm nuts sometimes as we read and as I bawl my eyes out over the story of "Jonah and the Big Fish" that we've read 1500 times before. And then I read it again to them, with a little more emotion this time, hoping against all hope that they too...
