Where's Your Spot?
This is my spot. It's where I'm actually sitting right now. Most mornings my alarm goes off on my phone, I shuffle into the kitchen where the coffee pot has made the morning's warmth, and I take my cup with me to this very place in our living room. This is the spot where many things have taken place for me. I have surrendered things that were dear, written raw and real feelings out, received hope for an issue, peace for a fear, or grace for my day.
Luke 9:23 says,
"And he said to all, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.'"
If we want to live a life full of God's power and presence, we must know Him and experience it. If we want to experience it, we must carve out a time that we devote to learning it. This way of life takes discipline. There are always other things we can be doing. There are countless items that we can invest in. Jesus is talking in this scripture about denying ourself. To follow Jesus requires that we place Him higher than all the other things in life, daily choosing His ways. The only way to do this is to spend time with Him daily, exposing our hearts to what Truth really is. As a momma, I desire to show my babies and husband the love of God, I desire to continue to grow in my character, but I need God in order to do that. For example, I need God for a sweet tone of voice in correction. The list is endless of the ways God can change me when He fills me. I welcome that change, daily.
Relationship with God is like any relationship we have with anyone. We will only know that individual if we spend time with them. We will only know God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit when we engage them and spend time with them. Would I really know Matt if I never talked to him, I just did things for him? Would I know my husband's love for me or his vision for our home? No. I encourage you, if you don't have your spot where you meet up with Jesus-find one. The heart transformation that happens when being with the Supernatural is supernatural. If you have your spot, go hard! He is vast. He is deep. And He desires to meet you wherever your spot may be.
